Monterey Jazz Festival

'The Art Of Jazz: Monterey Jazz Festival/50 Years' is the story of the Monterey Jazz Festival told through its graphic imagery and photographic moments. Reflecting on the longest running jazz festival in history, 'The Art Of Jazz' is a half-century retrospective of the Monterey jazz festival experience as depicted through a spirited collection of colorful and vibrant reproductions of posters, program covers, and exclusive photographs dating back from the very first festival in 1958.

Features the artwork of Eldon Dendini, Ron Grauer, Fernando Batista, Jerry Takigawa, Harry Briggs, Earl Newman, and more.

Also featured are classic photo portraits of festival stars like Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, and Dizzy Gillespie , taken by notable photographers like Jerry Stoll, Veryl Oakland, Tom Copi, Tony Salazar, and others. The book also notates every artist who has appeared at Monterey and includes informative commentary by authors Kieth and Kent Zimmerman examining each of the five decades, and is preceded by a foreword written by Clint Eastwood.
