Eric Dolpy - Last Recordings - West Wind

Two LP
West Wind

Eric Dolphy was a titan in the realm of pushing the jazz idiomís envelope. As a bourgeoning player he performed aside Mingus and Coltrane, contributed vastly to the popularization of the bass clarinet as a leader of his own groups, and drew comparisons to avant-garde composers from the opposite side of the classical-jazz divide. He also died tragically early due to complications from undiagnosed diabetes in 1964, leaving this as his final recorded testament.
